Kalanikai is located twelve miles from the Lihue airport, sitting in the lush tropical hillside that spills into the ocean five miles away. Our location is convenient to the many activities that originate or are located on the south side of the Garden Island. Snorkeling is great, boogie boarding an option, and beach side county parks abundant. Catamaran excursions depart Port Allen, five miles away, as well as helicopter, ultra light and other adventures. Don't forget the beautiful Waimea Canyon with its amazing vistas, myriad of hiking trails, and Kokee museum and lodge. The canyon's access road is only eleven miles from Kalanikai. Further west as you descend from the canyon you'll find the longest strip of beach in Hawaii, culminating at sunny Polihale State Beach, where the NaPali cliffs descend to the sand. Over 100 yards wide, this pristine white sand beach frames a picture-perfect panorama.
